Site Manager
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of construction and development projects. The successful candidate will coordinate contractors, artisans, materials, and site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, within budget, to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities at assigned project sites.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, artisans, labourers, and other site personnel.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate the delivery, storage, and proper use of construction materials and equipment.
- Inspect completed and ongoing work to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Identify construction issues, delays, defects, and technical challenges and report them to management.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and other technical drawings.
- Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and resources to ensure efficient site operations.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials received, work completed, labour, and project progress.
- Prepare regular site progress reports for management.
- Ensure proper measurements and quantities are verified for completed works and contractor activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with agreed specifications and schedules.
- Enforce health, safety, environmental, and site security procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox meetings where required.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost-control activities.
- Ensure construction materials and equipment are properly protected against damage, theft, or misuse.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, snagging, corrections, and project handover activities.
- Resolve day-to-day site issues and escalate major concerns to management promptly.
- Ensure the site remains clean, organized, and safe throughout the construction process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Estate Management, or a related field.
- Proven years of relevant experience in construction site management, property development, or real estate projects.
- Proven experience managing residential, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site operations.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
- Good understanding of project scheduling, quality control, and cost management.
- Strong contractor, subcontractor, and workforce management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Ability to prepare clear site reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to different project locations when required.
- Professional certification or membership with relevant bodies such as COREN, CORBON, NSE, or NIQS is an advantage.
