Job Summary

We are an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and commissioning Company that provides services to the oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction industries. The Head Office is in Ikeja, Lagos. The company has been around for many years and is doing well. In view of recent growth and the need to meet new and key timelines, they have a need to add new and competent hands to their team of project engineers.

  • Minimum Qualification : HND
  • Experience Level : Senior level
  • Experience Length : 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Prepare scheduled and necessary updates of construction activities and analysis of manpower and equipment required. 
  • Create and administer appropriate procedures to monitor project performance.
  • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met. 
  • Maintain budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight and report regularly to the project manager to keep him/her constantly informed of job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules. 
  • Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications.
  • Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
  • Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
  • Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment. 
  • Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
  • Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
  • Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance  standards, and specifications 
  • Responsible for preparing daily, weekly, and monthly site reports. 
  • Perform any other legal assignment assigned to you by the management. 


Requirements:

  • B.Sc/HND in Mechanical Engineering or any other related engineering discipline 
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in engineering design, piping/pipeline fabrication and construction, project supervision, and construction services 
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD is compulsory; knowledge of any other relevant engineering software will be an added advantage.

  • Data Analysis/Reporting with Excel, Word, PowerPoint  
  • Teamwork / Team management  
  • Technical and problem-solving skills  
  • Leadership and Management skills
  • Excellent & Analytical presentation and research skills 
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills 
  • A strong sense of personal responsibility  
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • Ability to deal with tight timelines and multiple priorities, and present reports to superiors
  • High degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality. 


Professional Certification/Training:

  • HSE 1-3 
  • Project Management 
  • Registration with COREN is an added advantage

Remuneration: NGN 200,000 – 300,000 Gross (Depending on qualifications and experience)
