Legal, Compliance & Bids/Tendering Officer

Responsibilities:

• Identify and track relevant tenders and RFPs in the marine survey and offshore industries.
• Prepare and submit compliant technical and commercial bids within deadlines.
• Coordinate with technical teams to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Interpret tender specifications and provide input on survey methodologies and costing.
• Maintain pre-qualification documents, vendor registrations, and company profiles.
• Monitor industry trends, client activities, and competitor strategies.
• Support contract drafting, negotiation, and review with clients, vendors, and partners.
• Ensure company operations comply with applicable maritime, corporate, and regulatory laws.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., NIMASA, NIPEX, NCDMB, IMO) for permits, certifications, and filings.
• Conduct compliance audits, manage risk assessments, and advise management on mitigation measures.
• Handle disputes, claims, and coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
• Promote corporate governance, ethics, and compliance culture across the organization.
• Provide periodic legal and compliance reports to management and support staff training on relevant policies.

Requirements:

• LL. B and BL (Barrister at Law); minimum 3–5 years post-call experience.
• Knowledge of maritime/shipping law and compliance frameworks.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in bids/tendering, legal, or compliance roles, preferably in marine/offshore or energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of tendering processes, contract law, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong contract, advisory, and risk management skills.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail, excellent communication, organizational ability, and integrity.
