Lawyers

Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
• Draft briefs and legal opinions for submission to a supervising Counsel.
• Synthesize legal research and analysis into clear, coherent memoranda or briefs for submission to the Firm, Clients, courts, arbitrators, or other relevant parties.
• Represent the Firm's Clients in courts of law, arbitration, or other judicial tribunals, presenting well-reasoned arguments before these bodies.
• Perform due diligence exercises on legal matters related to correspondence, contracts, agreements, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Prepare weekly or monthly status reports on all cases or briefs being handled, as assigned by a Supervising Counsel.
• Attend meetings, either physical or online, on behalf of the Firm or Clients as requested.
• Analyze and summarize legal documents, including contracts, and recommend necessary alterations.
• Write and publish articles in newspapers, peer-reviewed journals, or office journals annually.
• Draft agreements, contracts, opinions, papers, articles, or publications on topics as directed by a Supervising Counsel.
• Regularly review newspapers, websites, and industry-focused publications for opportunities related to professional training, business development, or Clients’ business interests.
• Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the Firm by developing strategies to avoid litigation and reduce areas of risk.
• Promote the Firm by reaching out to prospects and creating positive awareness about its services.
• Represent Clients in both criminal and civil litigation, as well as other legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of Clients.

Requirements:

• A law degree from a reputable university.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in commercial law and litigation.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High level of professional accountability.
• In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian legal system.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Strong presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in handling complaints and providing accurate information.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective use of computer systems for generating professional reports and other documents.
