Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first-level and second-level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, mobile devices, and related peripherals.
- Respond to IT helpdesk requests and resolve issues within defined service timelines.
- Assist users with software applications, email configuration, and connectivity problems.
Network & System Administration
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
- Assist with server administration, including backups, updates, and resource monitoring.
- Ensure system availability and minimise downtime.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Implement security best practices, including antivirus management, patch updates, and user access controls.
- Monitor systems for suspicious activity and report incidents.
- Ensure data backup procedures are followed, and disaster recovery plans are in place.
IT Asset & Vendor Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Work with vendors for procurement, repairs, and maintenance of IT tools and systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades where necessary.
Systems Implementation & Documentation
- Support the rollout of new systems, software, and IT projects.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation such as user guides, processes, and configuration records.
- Train staff on digital tools, applications, and cybersecurity practices.
Compliance & Policy Enforcement
- Ensure compliance with the organisation’s IT policies, data protection standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Enforce usage protocols for all systems and devices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years relevant IT support or system administration experience.
- Professional certifications (added advantage): CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCIP), Cisco CCNA, ITIL Foundation
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/MacOS), and software applications.
- Knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls.
- Experience with server administration (Windows Server or Linux).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Azure or AWS).
- Ability to manage backups, antivirus systems, email servers, and IT security tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- Close attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
- Team player with a proactive and learning mindset.
- Willingness to support after-hours or weekend emergencies when needed.
