Inventory Officer
Job summary
The Inventory Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring proper handling of goods from receipt to storage and issuance. The role ensures alignment between physical inventory and system records through routine cycle counts, reconciliation processes, and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock counts to reconcile system data with actual inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and generate replenishment requests based on reorder points to prevent stockouts.
- Track shelf-life of products and ensure FEFO (First Expired, First Out) rotation is consistently applied.
- Accurately document stock receipts, issuances, returns, transfers, and adjustments.
- Receive incoming goods and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against Purchase Orders (POs) and supplier invoices.
- Document discrepancies and communicate variances to Procurement and Accounting for resolution.
- Ensure all received items are labelled, categorized, and stored in designated locations.
- Ensure proper arrangement and safe handling of stock to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
- Refill shelves and storage areas based on consumption patterns and stock movement.
- Support production and sales teams with the timely issuance of requested stock.
- Identify, document, and isolate damaged, expired, or obsolete items following SOPs.
- Maintain accurate records of stock losses and initiate approval processes for disposal.
- Recommend measures to reduce shrinkage, breakages, and inventory inconsistencies.
- Prepare and submit weekly stock movement and variance reports to the accountant and CEO.
- Maintain updated stock registers, log sheets, and inventory management system entries.
- Track discrepancies and provide supporting documentation for internal audits.
- Work with Production for daily stock requisitions and replenishment of raw materials.
- Coordinate with Sales for reconciliation of product movement and shelf stock levels.
- Liaise with Procurement to follow up on pending orders and delivery timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant storage environment.
- Observe safety guidelines for lifting, handling, and storing inventory items.
- Perform other inventory-related duties assigned by the accountant or CEO.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a BSc
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
