Job summary
The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Personnel is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment by implementing health, safety, and environmental policies. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting safety awareness across the organization.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend preventive measures
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare reports
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and staff training
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Maintain HSE records, permits, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with government safety regulations and company standards
- Monitor environmental impact and waste management practices
- Promote a strong safety culture among employees and contractors
Requirements:
- HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- Professional HSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or similar)
- More than 2 years of experience in HSE or safety management
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Good communication and training abilities
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in industrial or field environments
