Job summary
A Manufacturing Company in Ota, Ogun state is looking for a HSE Officer who will ensure HSE compliance, conducts safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Develops safety procedures, training programs, and maintains all safety records, permits, and certifications
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and local regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
- Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs
- Investigate incidents/accidents and prepare reports
- Good knowledge of housekeeping and Effluent management
- Maintain safety records, permit, and audit documentation
- Promote a safe working environment and employee awareness
- Timely Renewal of certificates & permits (whereas required)
- Coordinate safety training across the factory
- Coordinate the renewals of safety-related SLAs for the factory before their expiration date.
- Follow up on the pending unsafe conditions for the Head Office.
- Ensure quarterly fumigation is conducted for the Head Office at the appropriate date.
- Create and send out the weekly HSE nuggets for the factory.
- Coordinate any HSE project event for the factory.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications or recognized HSE certification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3–7 years of relevant experience in a similar multi-functional role
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Good knowledge of labor laws and HSE regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
