Job Description/Requirements


The jobholder’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Notification and Documentation of Intending Retirees
  • Counselling of Intending retirees on the various modes of withdrawal
  • Payments of programmed withdrawal and a lump sum to retirees
  • Preparing Monthly and Quarterly Reports for the National Pension Commission


1. Turnaround Time :  

  • Ensuring retirees documents are verified, prepared & forwarded to PenCom 48 hours from the time of receipt
  • Ensuring benefits payments are effected 48hours after approval

2. Service Delivery : 

  • Effective and efficient feedback to retirees and outfield agents on the status of requests for payments
  • Ensuring retirees’ quarterly statements are delivered in the first week of the new quarter

3. Quality of Reports :

  • Ensure the integrity of all reports generated. (i.e. ensuring such are accurate, complete and are in line with regulatory requirements)
  • Service Delivery Capabilities
  • Leadership Qualities
  • Organization Values
  • Working Knowledge of the Pension Reform Act 2004(PRA 2004)
  • Knowledge of PenCom Regulations on the Administration of Terminal Benefits
  • Understanding of the Regulatory, Economic and Political Environment
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in the use of the Internet and other Web Applications
  • Respect for the views of others even when not in agreement
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a Team
  • Ability to work with minimum or no supervision
