Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and optimized cut lists from furniture design drawings, CAD files, and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models for production use.
- Calculate material requirements, minimizing waste and maximizing yield.
- Collaborate with designers, production teams, and CNC operators to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Prepare cutting layouts for boards, panels, and solid wood components.
- Ensure all measurements, tolerances, and joinery details are correctly specified.
- Review and revise cut lists based on design or production changes.
- Maintain documentation and version control for all production files.
- Support production planning and scheduling with accurate data.
Requirements:
- Experience with cut list optimization tools or nesting software is highly preferred.
- Excellent understanding of materials (MDF, laminates, etc.).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
