Job summary
Core drilling is a key method used in mineral exploration to collect rock samples, called cores, from beneath the surface. These samples provide accurate geological data and help geologists analyze the structure, composition, and mineral content of the ground.

Responsibilities:
- Safely set up, align, and operate specialized drilling rigs in various terrain conditions.
- Continuously monitor drilling speed, pressure, tool wear, and depth, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Carefully retrieve, log, label, and store core samples in the correct sequence to maintain orientation and integrity for analysis by geologists.
- Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting on the drilling equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities and submit reports as required.
- Work with geologists, engineers, and other team members to interpret results and provide insights.
Requirements:
- Bsc./HND Engineering, geology, geography or any related discipline.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good stamina and a strong sense of responsibility
- Awareness of health and safety issues
- Problem- solving skills
- Good organizational skills
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, and in remote locations
