Backend Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend systems and APIs.
• Write efficient, reusable, and reliable server-side code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Develop database schemas that represent and support business processes.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise backend systems and applications.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and monitor applications in production.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of backend features in collaboration with the product team.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with API development and integration (RESTful APIs, GraphQL).
• Familiarity with cloud services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with asynchronous programming and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Knowledge of container orchestration and cloud-native technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with frontend teams.
