Job summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, effective budgeting, and sound financial controls. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing timely financial insights, risk analysis, and compliance oversight.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and manage the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and expense control processes.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and liquidity planning.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls and risk management measures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.
- Monitor financial performance, cost efficiency, and profitability metrics.
- Support payroll processing in collaboration with HR.
- Maintain proper documentation and financial records for accountability.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting.
- 2 years of work experience.
- Basic knowledge of job-related tools, systems, or processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new tasks.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or relevant software.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism.
