Job Summary
To perform and support 6G welding works for repairs of a marine vessel (docked in shipyard).
- Minimum Qualification : Vocational
- Experience Level : Senior level
- Experience Length : 5 years
Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Welders: Perform 6G welding (TIG/MIG/ARC) on marine structures.
- Fitters: Assist welders with tag-welding and other welding support work on-site.
- Both: Interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Both: Conduct welding inspections to meet ABS standards.
- Both: Maintain welding equipment and ensure safety compliance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years marine/offshore welding/fitter experience.
- Welders: Certified 6G Welder (ABS/DNV/Lloyd’s certified).
Additional skills:
- Experience with working in a port/shipyard – familiar with the protocols/procedures in a port/shipyard.
- Experience with exotic metals (Inconel, Duplex Stainless Steel).
- Familiarity with ABS welding standards and procedures.
