Shoe Makers and Bag Makers

Responsibilities:

• Produce footwear: Oxford, Derby, Loafers, Boots, Slides (as assigned)
• Interpret designs, samples, and measurements; follow production specs
• Execute key processes: pattern cutting, lasting, stitching, sole fixing, edge finishing
• Ensure accurate sizing, comfort, symmetry, and durability
• Maintain quality control on materials, glue, stitches, and finishing
• Keep workstation clean; maintain tools and machines
• Meet daily/weekly production targets and delivery timelines

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience (or proven skill via practical test)
• Portfolio pictures/videos or physical samples (preferred)
• Good attitude, punctuality, and ability to work under supervision
• Strong knowledge of leather types, linings, soles (rubber/TPR/leather), and adhesives
• Ability to cut patterns and handle measurements correctly
  
• Strong hand skills in: Lasting (clean, tight, no wrinkles),  Stitching (neat lines, strong seams),  Sole attachment (clean bonding, no lifting),  Finishing (edges, burnish, polish, cleaning). 
• Must understand shoe construction (cemented and/or stitched methods)
• Ability to use machines/tools: skiving machine, sewing machine, sanding/buffing tools (where available)
• Ability to replicate a sample and maintain consistent quality
• Practical Test (Mandatory): The candidate will produce a simple pair (or complete the assigned stage) to assess: cutting accuracy, lasting, stitching neatness, finishing, and time.
