Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Operate steam irons, pressing machines, and finishing equipment to smooth and shape garments and linens.
- Inspect items before pressing to identify stains, needed repairs, or special handling instructions.
- Adjust machine settings such as temperature, steam levels, and pressure depending on fabric type.
- Finish items such as shirts, pants, dresses, uniforms, linens, and household fabrics.
- Hang, fold, or package pressed items according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized pressing station.
- Report damaged or heavily stained items to supervisors.
- Ensure garments match customer tags and orders to prevent mix-ups.
- Follow safety procedures to prevent burns, fabric damage, or machine hazards.
Secondary
- Assist with loading/unloading washers and dryers when needed.
- Perform minor machine cleaning or maintenance (e.g., wiping residue, draining water).
- Help with quality check and order assembly.
- Communicate with team members for efficient workflow.
Requirements:
- Experience in laundry or garment care (preferred but not always required).
- Ability to operate ironing and pressing equipment safely.
- Good attention to detail and eye for fabric quality.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of fabric types and suitable pressing methods.
- Reliability and good work ethic.
