Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Take accurate customer measurements and assist with garment fittings.
- Construct, alter, and repair clothing items (e.g., suits, dresses, trousers) using sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques.
- Read and interpret clothing patterns, designs, and modification requests.
- Ensure high-quality finishings, seam precision, and attention to detail on all garments.
- Select appropriate threads, fabrics, linings, and accessories for each job.
- Maintain sewing equipment, tools, and a safe, clean workstation.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of OND.
- 2 years of proven experience as a Tailor or Seamstress.
- High proficiency in using industrial sewing machines, sergers, and manual tailoring tools.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and fitting techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Must be highly proficient in suit tailoring, including fitting, lining, and finishing.
