About the role

PharmaRun is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist who will also take on the responsibility of ensuring the quality assurance of medications dispensed and overseeing the pharmacy operations. This individual will play a crucial role in providing accurate and safe pharmaceutical services to their patients. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail, extensive knowledge of medications and drug interactions, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

What do you need to be successful?

• Dispensing Medications: Prepare and carefully check medications prescribed to patients, ensuring accuracy in dosage and medication type.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance checks to verify that the right medications are being dispensed with the correct dosage and ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Drug Interaction Management: Identify potential interactions between drugs and provide relevant information to patients to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Records Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all medications processed through the pharmacy, including dispensing and quality assurance data.
• Patient Consultation: Offer professional advice to patients on proper dosages, potential side effects, and other aspects of drug interactions to enhance medication adherence.
• Community Healthcare Services: Extend community healthcare services, including prescription collection and delivery, to enhance patient convenience and accessibility.
• Team support: Support Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants, to maintain a skilled and efficient team.
• Collaborative Workspace: Work closely with the pharmaceutical staff to foster a clean, customer-friendly environment that promotes a positive patient experience.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Dispensing medications
• Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and completeness
• Ensuring that medications are appropriately labelled
• Providing advice on the proper use of medications
• Monitoring patient health and progress
• Collaborating with healthcare providers to develop treatment plans
• Counselling patients/customers on the management of chronic conditions
• Educating patients about healthy lifestyles
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Managing inventory.

What should you have done in your career?

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
• Active pharmacist license in Nigeria.
• Proven experience as a Pharmacist (5years+), with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and medication dispensing procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and pharmaceutical storage requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to upholding quality standards.
• Strong communication and patient counseling skills.
• Ability to lead and train pharmacy staff effectively.
• Demonstrated dedication to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
