Sonologist

Responsibilities:

• Prepare clients for investigations by explaining procedure(s), helping them to the ultrasound table and positioning them properly.
• Perform ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to Obstetrical Ultrasounds, Pelvic, Abdominal Pelvic, Folliculometry, Breast Scan, Thyroid, Transvaginal, Prostate, Testicular/Scrotal, Musculoskeletal/Small Part scan, Paediatrics, Ocular scan, Fetal Anormally, doppler studies.
• Determine whether scope of investigation should be extended, based on findings.
• Observe screen during scan to ensure that image produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes and adjust equipment as required.
• Evaluate scan results for clarity and accuracy.
• Provide sonography and oral or written summary of technical findings to physicians for medical diagnosis.
• Support radiography and laboratory department on exams like HSG, pap smear collection, histo etc.
• Maintain and update file systems for tests performed etc.

Requirements:

• MBBS degree and a Certificate in Ultrasonography.
• Current and valid medical practice license.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Sonologist in a medical facility.
• Strong proficiency in operating a range of ultrasound equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain technical terms in simple, understandable language.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
