Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts related to property management and development projects.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt and accurate processing.
- Handle property-level accounting, including rent rolls, lease tracking, and service charge reconciliations.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with financial regulations and real estate laws.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate classifications of transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Support investment analysis and feasibility studies for new projects and acquisitions.
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship where necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA/ICAN/ACCA certification is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 4–7 years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the real estate or property management industry.
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting, property and project financing, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Yardi, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
