Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Develop market knowledge in the life science and biotechnology space by identifying market leaders, understanding value chains, and supply and demand drivers, and monitoring supply trends and shifts in technology to identify areas of opportunity and risk.
• Review requests for proposals.
• Facilitate cross-functional strategic sourcing and supplier selection; to align and ensure the selection meets the needs of the business.
• Engage in contract negotiations, supply agreement development, contract execution and management.
• Negotiating with suppliers and developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
• Sourcing and engaging vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Identifying carriers, logistics partners and third-party solutions that are advantageous for the company’s business.
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers, vendors and third-party logistics agents to ensure ongoing feasibility.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
• Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
• Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
• Train new employees and support team members as necessary.
• Prepare reports and perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of a bachelor's degree in biological, medical, physical science or any related discipline
  
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain and logistics within the life sciences business.
• Possession of an advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
• Strong business analytical skills and comfort with identifying data needs and sources.
• Experience in supply negotiations and post-award contract management
• Excellent facilitation and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex objectives under stringent timelines.
• Team player and strong collaborator with a growth mindset, and able to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  
• Strong writing and record-keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
• Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.

Location: Yaba, Lagos

Renumeration:

• NGN 300,000 monthly
