Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of pharmaceutical products and related supplies. The ideal candidate must be a licensed pharmacist with a strong background in procurement within the pharma or retail pharmacy sector. This role requires excellent market knowledge.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure pharmaceutical products, medical consumables, and equipment in line with company policies and inventory needs.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors across Nigeria—especially in Lagos, South-East, South-South, and Abuja.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely restocking to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory and internal policies, including documentation and audit requirements.
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities and recommend strategies for cost reduction.
- Negotiate terms of contracts, pricing, and delivery timelines with vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a robust supplier database.
- Work closely with the Warehouse, Inventory, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure timely delivery, reconciliation, and stock accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with business needs and operational goals.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives
Requirements:
- Must be a licensed pharmacist (proof of licensure required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Procurement Officer in the pharmaceutical or retail pharmacy sector
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in the Nigerian pharma industry.
- Strong knowledge of vendor markets in Nigeria, especially Lagos, South-East, South-South, and Abuja.
- Familiarity with procurement regulations and pharmaceutical supply chain standards.
- Demonstrated ability to implement cost-saving and value optimization strategies.
- Proven experience working closely with warehouse, logistics, inventory, and finance functions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset to work effectively across departments and business units.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement or inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detals.
- Experience working with hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies, or pharmaceutical distributors.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
- Familiarity with international procurement or importation processes is an added advantage.
