Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, investigations, and diagnoses.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans in line with medical best practices.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and other medical staff to ensure effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports.
- Assist in emergency cases and perform minor surgical or medical procedures as required.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical medical standards.
- Provide health education and preventive care guidance to patients.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the medical team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) from a recognised institution.
- 3–4 years of post-NYSC clinical experience in a hospital or medical centre.
- Full registration and current practising license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple cases efficiently.
