Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Marketing & Sales Activities:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company’s publications.
- Conduct field marketing visits to schools, bookshops, distributors, and educational institutions.
- Identify new business opportunities and initiate contact with prospective clients.
- Execute marketing campaigns, product demonstrations, book fairs, exhibitions, and promotional events.
- Promote new book releases and ensure product availability in targeted markets.
- Prepare marketing proposals and presentations for clients.
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct regular market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Provide feedback to the editorial and production teams for product improvement.
- Generate marketing and sales reports, including weekly activities and target progress.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, book resellers, and distributors.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and follow up on sales leads.
- Maintain a database of clients and update customer records regularly.
Branding & Communication:
- Support brand development initiatives and ensure consistent brand representation.
- Collaborate with the digital/communications team to promote products online.
- Produce marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and promotional content.
Coordination & Administration:
- Work with the sales and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Track inventory levels during promotions and events.
- Document all marketing activities and maintain proper records.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, English, or any related field.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in marketing or sales.
- Additional certification in Marketing or Digital Marketing is an added advantage.
- Experience in the publishing, education, FMCG, or related industry is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires a blend of sales, marketing, branding, and customer relationship management.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, and close sales.
- Good understanding of marketing principles and customer behavior.
- Field marketing skills and willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet sales/marketing targets.
