In this role, Utility Person I will be responsible for performing general cleaning duties including storage areas, office areas, stairways, locker rooms, lunchroom, bathrooms, plant laboratory, instrument shops, soundproof booths, control room, and other areas of the plant as directed. Assist uniform vendor in the distribution of uniforms, shop towels, and runners as well as maintain exterior walks and driveways. This position is located at our Longwood Medical Energy Complex in Boston, MA.â and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

What youâll do:

ââPerform cleaning of plant office, storage areas, locker rooms, stairways, satellite facilities, and other areas as required  âCollect and dispose of all plant rubbish  âClean and dust furniture and fixtures, wash walls and windows in plant and office areas  âAssist uniform vendor in the collection and distribution of uniforms, wipers, and runners  âMaintain the plantâs exterior and walks, including grounds keeping, window cleaning, trash collection and removal, sweeping of walks and passageways, and snow removal from walkways and driveways  âMust participate in emergency response team  âMust observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws  âMust participate in mandatory training, and other programs  âPerform other related duties as requiredâ

What you bring:

High School Diploma required  âThree years of applicable experience in an industrial facility  âCommonwealth of Massachusetts 2nd Class Firemanâs License preferred âGeneral knowledge of power generation, power generation equipment and technology preferred âProficiency in Microsoft Office and Maximo CMMS programs  âAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers and take direction from others  âMay be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends, etc.) and/or other, as neededâ

Must be able to work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facilityâs grounds or at satellite facilities
