Lead Accountant

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and effective management of accounting processes.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Supervise general ledger activities and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts
- Manage loan accounting processes, including disbursement, repayments, and interest tracking
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and controls
- Prepare and submit statutory reports such as VAT and SCUML
- Monitor income, repayments, and financial records for accuracy
- Review financial statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain cheque registers and other financial documentation
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis reports
- Track loan portfolio performance and provide actionable insights
- Coordinate weekly and monthly financial reporting activities
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior accounting staff
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders
- Identify process improvements and implement cost-saving initiatives
Requirements:
- Minimum BSC
- 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
