Job summary

We are looking for a responsible and target-driven loan recovery officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for recovering overdue loans, maintaining good relationships with customers, and supporting the company's loan portfolio through effective recovery strategies. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in loan recovery and be comfortable engaging with customers to negotiate repayments.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with customers to ensure timely repayment of loans.
  • Contact customers with overdue loans through phone calls, emails, WhatsApp messages, and physical visits where necessary.
  • Negotiate repayment plans with customers and encourage prompt settlement of outstanding loans.
  • Monitor overdue loan accounts and keep accurate recovery records.
  • Escalate difficult or unresolved recovery cases to management.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly recovery reports.
  • Ensure all recovery activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while recovering outstanding loans.
  • Support sales and marketing activities by identifying opportunities to onboard new customers.
  • Meet assigned recovery and performance targets.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of an HND  in finance, banking, business administration, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in loan recovery, debt collection, sales, or marketing.
  • Previous experience handling loan recovery is mandatory.
  • Experience working in a finance company, microfinance bank, fintech, cooperative, or any lending institution is an added advantage.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to persuade customers and resolve payment issues professionally.
  • Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet set targets.


Preferred Candidate:

  • Open to all qualified candidates; male candidates are preferred.
  • Maximum age of 40 years.
  • Experience in the financial services or lending industry is preferred.

Location: Garki, Abuja

Remuneration: NGN 150,000 Monthly Net
