Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Oversee the accurate tracking and management of inventory levels. Ensure timely stock replenishment and avoid stockouts. Perform regular stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Update inventory systems to reflect current stock levels and usage.
- Stock Monitoring & Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and assess the need for stock replenishment. Place orders with suppliers and track delivery schedules. Ensure proper storage and handling of products to prevent damage or loss.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of stock movements, including goods received, transferred, and sold. Generate regular reports on stock status and inventory turnover. Record any discrepancies between physical counts and system data.
- Inventory Optimization: Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend strategies for disposal or clearance. Help manage and implement stock rotation systems (e.g., FIFO - First In, First Out). Work with the procurement team to adjust orders based on trends or changing demands.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure stock availability meets demand. Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on sales trends and market analysis. Communicate any issues related to stock shortages, excess inventory, or damaged goods to the appropriate departments.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure inventory is handled in compliance with company policies and relevant safety regulations. Perform regular quality checks to ensure that products meet company standards before they are placed in inventory.
- System and Software Use: Use inventory management software to track inventory and generate reports. To Stay updated on best practices and new technologies in inventory management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
- 2-5 years of proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory management software and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in managing inventory data.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Analytical skills for forecasting and stock management.
- Problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and stock issues.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Typically based in an office or warehouse environment.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work during peak inventory periods.
