Accountant

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Control:

• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
• Produce Profit & Loss statements and perform variance analysis
• Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and documentation
• Monitor cash flow, income, and expenditure across all departments

Revenue Assurance & Audit:

• Reconcile daily revenue from Front Office, POS, bar, and other outlets
• Review night audit reports and ensure accuracy of postings
• Identify and address revenue leakages and discrepancies
• Implement internal controls to safeguard hotel revenue

Cost Control & Inventory Management:

• Monitor and control operational costs across departments
• Supervise inventory management (store, kitchen, bar)
• Maintain and enforce bin card and stock control systems
• Analyze food and beverage cost percentages and recommend improvements

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Process supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure proper documentation
• Track receivables, including corporate clients and outstanding balances
• Ensure timely collections and payments

Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Payments:

• Ensure timely and accurate remittance of all statutory obligations, including: PAYE (Pay As You Earn), Pension contributions, NHF (National Housing Fund), NSITF (Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund), VAT (Value Added Tax), and Withholding Tax (WHT)
• Maintain proper statutory records and documentation
• Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities when required
• Support internal and external audits

Systems & Process Improvement:

• Utilize accounting software, POS systems, and Excel for reporting and analysis
• Improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and control systems
• Work closely with operations to align financial goals with business performance

Requirements:

• HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience (hospitality experience is a strong advantage)
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, cost control, and audit processes
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory remittances
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Experience with POS and hotel management systems
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
