Job summary
The Head, Central Processing Unit (CPU) is responsible for leading and managing the bank’s centralized processing operations. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant execution of transactions and back-office activities across all branches, while maintaining high operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee centralized processing of account opening, loan documentation, fund transfers, reconciliations, and transaction postings.
- Ensure strict compliance with CBN regulations, internal control policies, and AML/KYC requirements.
- Monitor and improve operational workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.
- Support process automation initiatives and system enhancements.
- Prepare periodic management and regulatory reports and maintain proper documentation.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and promptly address audit findings.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise CPU staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Operations, IT, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or a relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- 8–12 years of relevant banking or microfinance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of centralized banking operations, transaction processing, loan administration, and risk management.
- Proven leadership, attention to detail, and strong compliance orientation.
- Hands-on experience with core banking systems, internal controls, and audit processes.
