Accountant
Job summary
The accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, accounting operations, statutory compliance, budgeting support, and internal financial controls. The role requires a detail-oriented and commercially aware finance professional capable of supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded.
- Reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor revenue recognition in line with applicable accounting standards.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyse financial performance and provide management insights.
- Monitor cash flow trends and liquidity position.
- Prepare variance analysis reports and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure timely remittance of taxes, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and company income tax.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain strong accounting controls and financial processes.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Monitor expense approvals and adherence to company policies.
Payroll & Vendor Management:
- Oversee payroll accuracy and statutory deductions.
- Manage vendor reconciliations and payment schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
Technology & Systems Support:
- Utilise accounting software and ERP systems effectively.
- Support automation of accounting and reporting processes.
- Ensure financial data integrity within company systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a software, technology, fintech, or digital services company is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of SaaS/subscription revenue models is an added advantage.
- Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
