The Finance & Accounts Officer will manage Home Owner’s daily financial activities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in all monetary transactions. This individual will oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, payments, and financial reporting, working closely with management and external auditors to maintain strong financial discipline and compliance. The role requires someone highly organised, analytical, and trustworthy, with hands-on experience handling multi-channel income streams and operational cash flows in a fast-paced startup environment.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Record Keeping
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, commissions, and settlements.
- Maintain accurate ledgers, journals, and balance sheets.
- Reconcile daily bank transactions, escrow accounts, and digital payment platforms.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records.
- Prepare monthly trial balances and general ledger reports.
Financial Management
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements.
- Support management in financial planning and expense control.
- Process vendor and agent payments, ensuring timely settlements.
- Track receivables, payables, and operational expenses across departments.
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors or consultants.
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Support statutory filings (PAYE, VAT, WHT, pension, etc.) in coordination with external accountants.
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and Nigerian accounting standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all financial dealings.
Operational Support
- Work closely with the HR & Operations Officer to process payroll and reimbursements.
- Support vendor and supplier verification for payment approvals.
- Provide financial insights for decision-making on new products, partnerships, or campaigns.
- Assist in optimising payment systems, expense workflows, and reporting tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a tech, real estate, or e-commerce environment.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or Excel).
- Understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- High ethical standards and attention to detail.
- Startup or fast-growth company experience.
- Ability to manage multiple income streams (sales, commissions, escrow).
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
