Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Data Protection Compliance:
- Ensure the organization complies with all relevant data protection laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in data protection legislation and advise the organization on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
- Develop, implement, and review data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Data Management:
- Oversee data collection, storage, processing, and retention practices to ensure data security and compliance.
- Classify and categorize data to determine appropriate handling and access levels.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) when necessary.
Data Access and Consent:
- Manage data access requests and ensure timely responses.
- Obtain and manage data subject consent where required.
- Maintain records of data processing activities, including lawful bases for processing.
Security and Risk Management:
- Implement and monitor data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and incident response plans.
- Identify and mitigate data protection risks through regular risk assessments.
Data Breach Response:
- Develop and oversee data breach response plans and procedures.
- Report data breaches to regulatory authorities and affected data subjects when required by law.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management & Tech/Computer Science or any related discipline
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations.
- Experience in data protection compliance and management.
- Strong understanding of IT and information security principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
