Job summary

The Business Development Assistant supports the growth of SEAM Energy’s Oil & Gas and Solar operations in Nigeria. Responsibilities include market research, client engagement support, proposal and tender preparation, partnership coordination, and administrative support to drive revenue and strategic opportunities.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct market research on Nigeria’s energy sector, including upstream, downstream, and renewable (solar) markets.
  • Identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and partnership prospects.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities within Nigeria’s energy landscape.
  • Support feasibility studies for new energy projects.


Business Development Support:

  • Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals for Oil & Gas and Solar projects.
  • Support tender documentation for NNPC-related bids, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracts, and renewable energy installations.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and track opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations, capability statements, and marketing materials.


Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Assist in client meetings, follow-ups, and relationship management.
  • Coordinate communication between internal technical teams and external clients.
  • Support negotiations and contract documentation processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, and the private sector
  • stakeholders.
  • Weekly or regular follow-up on SEAM Energy interests on Projects like (iDICE, PCNGi;
  • documented check-in as part of weekly reports/presentations


Administrative & Reporting Duties:

  • Ensure SEAM Energy annual bidding documents for both public and private sectors are up to date
  • Ensure SEAM Energy is up-to-date with the relevant regulatory bodies/industry compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, contracts, and business transactions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.
  • Support budgeting and cost analysis for project proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop content for SEAM Energy’s website and always ensures website content is up-to-date


Solar Energy Project Support:

  • Assist in identifying commercial and residential solar installation opportunities.
  • Support site assessments and data collection for solar system proposals.
  • Coordinate logistics and documentation for solar project execution.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Energy Management, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in business development, preferably in Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy.
  • Knowledge of Nigeria’s energy regulatory framework and market structure.
  • Strong understanding of tendering processes and contract documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
