The opportunity

The Advocacy & Youth Programme Intern is expected to provide quality support to of Plan International Nigeriaâs initiatives aimed at empowering youth, especially girls, adolescent girls in particular, to become advocates for their rights, and provide them with necessary skills and knowledge. The Advocacy & Youth Programme Intern will be required to enhance and add value to Plan Internationalâs works with the young people, especially girls, in Nigeria and to contribute to our efforts in effectively promoting youth advocacy and engagement. S/he is expected to contribute to all efforts at supporting the young people to learn new culture in organising, mobilisation and campaigning and, to enhance their skills to pick up issues of national importance to both female and male youth in the country.

About You

We are looking for a graduate who has completed NYSC with significant prior experience working in advocacy on youth rights, child rights, broader human rights, humanitarian and development issues.

He/she should possess experience in influencing and advocacy work including lobbying, policy development and information provision. In-depth knowledge of youth mobilisation, International trend in youth mobilisation, organisation and campaigns and skills in capacity building, especially in facilitating training, providing mentoring or accompaniment support are also important requirement for the role.
