A Psychosocial Support Counsellor provides direct support to individuals and groups, helping them cope with the psychological and social impacts of various challenges, such as trauma, displacement, or disability. Often involves conducting assessments, developing and implementing support plans, providing individual & group therapy, and other services.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one (individual) and group counselling sessions to survivors of GBV, including specialized support for vulnerable groups (Adolescent girls, Child survivors, persons with disabilities, etc.)
- Conduct psychosocial and regular participatory activities such as FGDs, individually or with different groups of adolescents, youths, and women.
- Facilitate life skills training sessions for adolescent girls and women.
- Conduct community sensitization/ GBV awareness creation activities.
- Assist case workers in conducting routine follow-up of GBV cases to ascertain the general well-being of GBV survivors.
- Conduct routine follow-up with adolescent girls and women.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of activities carried out by the center.
- Utilize the referral pathway by linking survivors to service providers/other humanitarian actors as the need arises.
- Develop a response plan/activity work plan on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Prepare and submit updated activity reports on a weekly and monthly basis as required.
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly review meetings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral, social science, or psychology field.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- A minimum of 2-year years of experience in program development and management of project implementation with CBO, NNGOs, or INGOs.
- The candidate MUST be a female indigene of Zamfara State.
- Should be a team player and culturally sensitive.
- Ability to speak Hausa or the native languages of the community.
- Being flexible and having the ability to cope with stressful situations
- Commitment to and understanding of RHHF’s aims, values, and principles.
- Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel, and the internet).
