Job summary
MVG Entertainment is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to support the company’s financial operations, compliance, and reporting as we continue to build a structured and scalable business. This role is ideal for a professional who values accuracy, accountability, and clarity, while remaining adaptable within a growing organization. The Accountant will work closely with leadership to ensure sound financial management and informed decision-making across the label’s activities.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using approved accounting software
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations
- Prepare periodic financial reports, expense summaries, and cash flow updates for internal review
- Support budget preparation and monitor spending against approved plans, highlighting variances and insights
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiency and improved financial processes
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure consistency across financial records
- Process payroll and ensure statutory deductions are properly calculated and remitted
- Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with applicable Nigerian regulations
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and support internal or external audit processes when required
- Liaise with external auditors, consultants, or advisors as necessary
- Provide clear financial information and analysis to support leadership planning and operational decisions
- Carry out other reasonable finance-related duties aligned with the needs of the business
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA) is an advantage
- Minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience (experience within music, media, or creative industries is a plus)
- Working knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage, or similar tools
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational ability
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly with stakeholders
