Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and control panels
- Conduct regular inspections of treatment processes to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor and record flow rates, chemical usage, and system performance data
- Perform routine laboratory tests on water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Adjust treatment processes and chemical dosing as required to maintain quality standards
- Identify operational issues and perform basic troubleshooting and corrective actions
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, and system alarms
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and external contractors when necessary
Requirements:
- Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field
- Relevant certification in wastewater treatment operations is an added advantage
- Minimum 2 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes (e.g., biological treatment, filtration, sludge handling)
- Ability to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
