The Senior Accounts Officer manages the company’s financial records and ensures accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves overseeing core accounting functions such as payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, and payroll, while supporting financial analysis and decision-making processes.

Job Description/Requirements
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, including vendor reconciliations and customer account monitoring.
- Perform bank reconciliations and oversee cash management activities.
- Prepare tax computations, VAT returns, WHT remittances, and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Monitor project and departmental expenditures, ensuring alignment with budget limits.
- Assist in audit processes (internal and external), ensuring all supporting documents and schedules are provided promptly.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and teams to track inventory and product movement (e.g., PMS, AGO, LPG).
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and interns.
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems, controls, and processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (or in active pursuit): ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP), tax laws, and financial analysis.
- Experience working with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
