The Hotel Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy in all financial records, preparing reports, monitoring budgets, and supporting management in making informed financial decisions. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of hospitality finance.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate ledger entries.
- Monitor cash flow, room revenue, POS sales, and overall hotel income.
Budgeting & Reporting:
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Track expenses to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Generate revenue variance reports and financial summaries for management.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Process staff payroll accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory payments, and financial regulations.
- Maintain financial records and documentation for audits.
Internal Controls:
- Implement and enforce internal financial controls and procedures.
- Review and verify invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
- Monitor inventory, purchases, and cost control (kitchen, bar, housekeeping supplies).
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with the Front Office, F&B, and Procurement departments on financial matters.
- Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
- Handle guest billing issues and resolve discrepancies when needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxes, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Oracle, hotel PMS).
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Location: Agulu, Anambra
Remuneration: NGN 150,000
