Restaurant Accountant
Job summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Restaurant Accountant to manage daily financial operations, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support the restaurant’s financial health. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hospitality accounting, inventory tracking, and cost control.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and supplier payments
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management review
- Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank statements, and manage petty cash
- Track food and beverage inventory and identify discrepancies or wastage
- Ensure proper documentation of invoices, receipts, and purchase orders
- Work closely with the restaurant manager to control costs and improve profitability
- Assist with payroll processing and staff payment records
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years accounting experience, preferably in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
