Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for equipment and staffing needs.
  • Oversee payroll management for all technicians and administrative staff.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow tracking and daily ledger entries.


Nigerian Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure alignment of financial records with local and federal laws.
  • Manage all tax filings, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and PAYE obligations with the Federal Inland Revenue Service and State Internal Revenue Services.
  • Process statutory remittances for corporate contributions required by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), and monthly Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) deductions.


Revenue Cycle & Billing Management:

  • Reconcile and audit receivables from NHIA schemes, private HMOs, and corporate clinic retainers to mitigate bad debts.
  • Maintain separate daily cash logs for various revenue channels, including walk-in patients and home-service test collections.
  • Manage debt recovery processes, closely monitoring outstanding invoices and following up with clients on pending payments.


Inventory Control & Reagent Costing:

  • Monitor the shelf-life and fluctuating costs of imported medical consumables, adjusting test pricing accordingly.
  • Implement stock valuation methods such as First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or Weighted Average to manage inventory effectively.
  • Conduct audits to assess financial losses stemming from expired diagnostic batches or unbilled emergency test reruns.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in accounting within the healthcare sector or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
