Quality Control Officer

Responsibilities:

• Raw Material Inspection: Inspect incoming ingredients (flour, sugar, yeast) for quality and freshness before use. Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
• Process Monitoring: Monitor baking, mixing, and cooling times, temperatures, and techniques for consistency. Conduct routine inspections of raw materials and finished products.
• Finished Goods Inspection: Evaluate final products (bread) for taste, texture, appearance, and packaging compliance. Work closely with production staff to improve product quality.
• Hygiene and Sanitation: Enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitation standards for staff, equipment, and storage areas.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of daily QC checks, temperature logs, and inspection reports.
• Corrective Action: Identify non-conformities, hold or discard compromised batches, and initiate root cause analysis. 
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO).

Requirements:

• A minimum of an HND in food science, microbiology, or a related field
• A minimum of 2- 3 years of proven experience in a bakery or food production environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, quality control processes, and workplace safety protocols (e.g., ISO)
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain a calm and respectful demeanor under pressure
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes hot production environment
• Competence in Microsoft Office for reporting
• Attention to detail and commitment to enforcing compliance without confrontation

Remuneration: NGN 180,000 – 200,000
