Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the logistics operations to ensure the smooth movement of goods and materials.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage transportation logistics, including route planning, scheduling, and coordination with carriers to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
- Oversee inventory control procedures, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained and monitored to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Manage warehouse operations, ensuring goods are stored in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Track shipments and deliveries, addressing any issues or delays to maintain the project timeline.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including inventory levels, shipments, delivery schedules, and transportation costs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all logistics transactions and ensure that all invoices and payments are processed efficiently.
- Ensure that logistics costs are aligned with budget expectations and report any variances to management.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics operations, including transportation delays, inventory shortages, and supplier issues.
- Develop contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain and ensure continuous operations
- Provide training and guidance to logistics staff to improve operational efficiency and safety.
- Work closely with the customer service team to ensure client expectations are met regarding delivery schedules and quality.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including customs clearance and import/export procedures.
Requirements:
- HND/Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement, and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
