Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Recommend approval of loan applications based on creditworthiness.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with applicants to gather financial information and understand their loan needs.
- Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Maintain and build relationships with new and existing clients to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Explain loan options and terms to applicants clearly and effectively.
- Ensure all lending procedures comply with current regulations and company policy.
- Follow up with clients regarding loan documentation and repayments.
- Maintain detailed records of loan applications, approvals, and rejections for audit and compliance purposes.
- Monitor loan accounts and manage overdue payments.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as credit risk and legal to ensure seamless loan processing.
- Propose new credit services or product improvements based on client feedback and market research.
- Stay informed on financial regulations, market trends, and new loan products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a loan officer or credit-related role.
- Understanding of financial statements, credit scoring, lending procedures, and Nigerian financial laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan management software (e.g., Core Banking Systems CRM tools).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data with accuracy.
- High ethical standards and professional conduct.
- Adapt to changing client needs or market conditions.
