The litigation secretary will play a pivotal role in managing case files, coordinating court documents, and supporting attorneys.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, motions, and subpoenas, ensuring compliance with court regulations.
- Maintain detailed case records and manage case files in both physical and electronic formats.
- Manage attorneys and court schedules, including arranging hearings, client meetings, and depositions.
- Coordinate with court clerks, clients, and witnesses to ensure timely submissions of court documents.
- Draft routine legal correspondence and communicate with clients under the supervision of attorneys.
- Perform research on case law and procedural matters as requested by attorneys.
- Ensure all deadlines for court filings and pleadings are met by maintaining and monitoring litigation calendars.
- Manage confidential case information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a litigation secretary or in a similar legal administrative role, preferably within a Tier 1 law firm.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian litigation processes, court procedures, and filing requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and legal case management software.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to interact professionally with clients, court officials, and attorneys.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of court rules, legal terminology, and procedures.
- Confidentiality and ethical conduct when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in the use of legal case management and document automation software.
