Legal and Contracts Officer

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and engineering contracts.
• Support project bidding processes, including preparation and review of tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian laws, regulations, and contractual standards.
• Provide legal guidance on contractual and commercial matters related to engineering projects.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including the Nigerian Ministry of Justice and other relevant government agencies.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure accuracy in all legal and contractual records
• Collaborate effectively within a multicultural team environment.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of FIDIC contract terms.
• Familiarity with the Nigerian engineering industry, including business practices and contractual norms.
• Sound knowledge of the Nigerian commercial legal system, policies, and regulations, particularly as they relate to engineering contracting
• Proven experience in project bidding and tender documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Excellent communication and legal drafting skills.
• Ability to engage and maintain relationships with government bodies, including the
• Ministry of Justice and other relevant agencies.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
• Willingness to adapt to and embrace Chinese corporate culture.
• Experience working in a mixed Chinese-foreign team is an advantage.
