Job summary
Performs routine laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid diagnosis and treatment. Collects, prepares, and analyzes samples, operates laboratory equipment, records results accurately, and maintains quality and safety standards. Supports clinicians by providing timely and reliable laboratory findings for patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures to support medical diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring.
- Collect and process patient specimens such as blood, urine, and other body fluids
- Operate laboratory equipment and ensure accurate documentation of test results.
- Maintains laboratory quality standards, ensures proper handling and storage of specimens, and adheres strictly to infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, manage laboratory supplies, and support clinicians with reliable and timely diagnostic information.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient laboratory services and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or a related discipline.
- Valid professional license and registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria).
- Practical knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and laboratory reports.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of laboratory safety, infection prevention, and quality control practices.
- Prior hospital or diagnostic laboratory experience is an added advantage
