Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Assess compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Perform detailed testing procedures to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial and operational data.
- Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the annual internal audit plan.
- Assessing the system of internal controls, effectiveness of key controls, governance, and risk management processes.
- Perform and control the full audit cycle, including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
- Analyse audit findings, identify root causes of control weaknesses, and develop well-supported recommendations for corrective action.
- Establish risk management policies and support smart decision-making. Develop and advocate for a strong risk culture within the organisation.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments to understand processes, gather information, and facilitate the audit process.
- Communicate audit results and recommendations clearly, concisely, and professionally to management at all levels.
- Stay up-to-date on internal audit methodologies, best practices, and emerging risks.
- Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document the process.
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement.
- Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
- Verify and validate all payment vouchers, petty cash, and invoices for Projects and Operations to guard against wasteful elimination, fraud, abuse, and duplication of all expenses before and after approval.
- Maintain open communication with management and the audit committee.
- Document the process and prepare an audit findings memorandum.
- Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions.
- Promote customer requirements, ensure QMS maintenance, and report on the management system performance.
- Evaluate processes, identifying non-conformities and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Support External Auditors and the account Department in audits with regulatory bodies such as FIRS, LIRS, etc
- Improves controls by recommending changes in operational and financial policies and practices.
- Spearhead the company's automation process to reduce manual processes and approvals.
- Monthly store inventory audit.
- Any other tasks as may be assigned by the company
Requirements:
- BSc. degree in Audit, Accounting, and related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of success, preferably in an Engineering/Construction (EPC) organisation.
- Professional Qualification and additional qualification in Accounting and Auditing (CPA, CIA, A CA) will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of internal audit methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and internal control frameworks.
