We are a premium hospitality destination known for exceptional guest experiences, elegant service delivery, and operational excellence. We currently seek meticulous, proactive and analytic Internal Auditors to join our Hotel and help strengthen our internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of Yacht Hotel’s internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role involves conducting financial and operational audits, identifying weaknesses or gaps, recommending improvements, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate internal policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor revenue collection, cash handling, and expense management to prevent fraud and financial irregularities
  • Perform audits of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
  • Verify charges and payments posted to guest accounts and balance all revenue earned during shift period.
  • Reconcile guests’ accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Conduct shift reviews of room rates, occupancy, and revenue.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and guest complaints promptly.
  • Ensure risk minimization in the processes
  • Collaborate with departments and management to develop strategies for risk mitigation and process enhancement
  • Ensure strict adherence to the hotel’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and compliance checks.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed periodic audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommended improvements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience as an Internal Auditor in the hospitality industry
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA) is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, accounting principles, and financial regulations
  • Proficient in the use of hotel management software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality
  • Availability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Familiarity with Nigerian hospitality industry standards.


Location: Lekki, Lagos (On-site)

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 - 350,000 Net
